Its a new language in our house and Ethan isn't taking to it very well. Wink

Ethan: Lets push the cars!

Rachel: Ma-E-dA!

Ethan: No Rachel, you say "we push the cars!"

Rachel: Ma-E-dA!

Ethan: Rachel, yook at me. You have ta push the cars like this (he shows her)

Rachel: Gla-ma-E-dA!

Ethan: Rachel, what are you saying to me?

Rachel: Daddy!!

Ethan: NO, I not Daddy. I Efan. Why do you say "Daddy" to me?

Rachel: Ma-E-dA-do-do! Aga-go-go-ma-e-dA!

Ethan: Rachel, I don't wanna talk like this any-MORE.

Rachel: Daaaddy! Naaana!

Ethan: I not Daddy and I NOT Nana! Why do you say that to me?!

Rachel: Ma-E-dA! Ta-meemee-neeta!

Ethan: Mommy!! Rachel needs to get new words!

Happy Saturday Smile

VERY cute!  Hey, in a few months he'll be telling you what Rachel is trying to say!  When Nathan and Tim were little, and Tim couldn't talk yet, Nathan would tell me what Tim was saying all the time!  :)  Who knows if it was right, but Tim was happy and Nathan felt quite important.  Wink

Cute. I remember when you used to talk to Sam using baby jabber sounds and he talked back like it all made sense to him. :)

Sam also seems to think he can understand Emma's jabber words. It's cute.

I love Ethan's attitude - he wants to communicate clearly and be in control. :)  Hopefully Rach won't give him too hard of a time when she's more talkative. ;) Poor E...

Women...we can be tough, can't we?

Ahhhh, you said it Trish! Our constant struggle with Ethan is that he wants to be in control 24/7. I know most kids desire that, but Ethan fights us on it all the time. :( Its a trait I'm very glad he has, since he will (Lord willing) be a husband and Father someday. I'd much rather him exhibit it than Rachel. :) He has a hard time remembering Rachel is only one year old. I show him pictures of himself when he was one and we talk about how he was SO little and Mommy and Daddy had to be gentle and teach him, with kindness. He seems to get that, so maybe we're making progress. :) Jill - he already does tell us what she's saying. Its pretty funny. The other day he wanted to go see Aunt Twisha very badly and I kept telling him it was naptime. Rachel said something and I said "what are you talking about, Missy?" and Ethan said "She said she wants to go see Twisha." :)
