We'd like to congratulate our friends Nick and Krista Sobrak-Seaton on the birth of their new son, Elijah David. He was born at 7pm last night (April 10th) and weighs 7 pounds 11 ounces and is 19 inches long. Krista and Eli are doing very well and she had a pretty smooth labor and delivery.

For those of you that don't know, this is kind of a fun fact... baby Jack Lutz and Elijah are cousins; born only a couple weeks apart!

God bless you guys! ~ Jase, Stef, Ethan & Rachel

:)

Yeah Krista! Congrats and welcome to the mommy world!

Elijah is a good name. ;-)

Even better is Elijah Gabriel (Eckert)

 :-)

Very nice name, Shane. I like strong sounding boy's names... do you call him Eli?

Actually I would like to say we call him Elijah. But we actually call him Jah. Everyone we know calls him Jah or "buddy". And I mean everyone from doctors to family to church and friends. Jah.

Lorelai wants to be called Lorelai. Some call her Lora and some call her Rory, but over all she has kept the name Lorelai in tact! I love that name so much!!

Bethany, she never gets called Beth, I really dislike it when people call her Beth, her name is Bethany.

Some call me Sean, I really do not like that. Why is Shane such a hard name to remember? Shane, like the cowboy, Shane not Sean, it's Shane. When I hang out with Sean, man no one can get my name right.

Long ago, someone called me Shan. ;-) Someone else I knew had a funny nickname as well. I am tempted to drop that name, but some of the readers of this blog know this person ... :-)

That's funny... I've always been of the opinion that when you name your child something like Bethany, you should expect to have people call her Beth. Some names just have very common nicknames and so you can bet everyone will naturally want to call them that. I am not a huge fan of nicknames so I gravitated toward the name Ethan, since there's no real nickname for it. Rachel is the same one. I know some people call their kids by Rache, but its a super odd nickname if you ask me and doesn't fit. Some people out there will give your kids a nickname no matter what. If your name is Shane, they'll call you Shaw or Shan... that's just silly. I think that's what kept me from naming our kids names that I thought were cute; I didn't the nickname version. :) I think you guys picked very pretty names though and not super common names at all! I like that.

IMI!!
you'll have to explain what your abbreviated words mean, Dear. :)

Ha, I almost forgot about that!! Wow, that brings back memories. How is Jenny?
Is that what you called Jenny? How funny! She's doing really well. We'll have to have her over when we (finally) get together with you guys. :)
Hi Shan! I was actually thinking about that nickname for you the other day! Somethings you just never forget! :)  ~J.L.
this is actually scary... we've all known each other way too long - think of the thread we could start. :)

I was trying to explain all of this to my wife, but she just stared at me.
Hahaha! Poor Suzy! Just tell her we're all crazy and leave it at that. :)
Jen
Jen's doing pretty well.  She's working in SF at either Pottery Barn or Williams-Sonoma (I forget which) on the web catalog team.  We don't get to see her as often as we should though :(

How many people know your nickname these days Jess? :-)
I don't think many people know Jess' because it was news to me and I've known her almost 13 years. :) Just for those of you who love to know baby's full names... Elijah Sobrak-Seaton's middle name is David. They didn't have one picked out when I 1st posted about his birth.
