Ethan's update

Tagged:

I took Ethan to Kaiser today, mostly because the fevers were not subsiding. He has two bad ear infections (again) so he's back on meds. He also does have that all famous virus going around, which is kind of what I assumed.

We go in a couple weeks to see a Ear and Nose specialist to find out about some options for helping him with some of his health concerns. We would appreciate your prayers regarding this. We'll be up against some pretty difficult decisions, including a major surgery possibility. Something that helps in our favor is that I had the exact same health issues and so it sheds quite a bit of light and knowledge on the situation. :)

We know that God will make things very clear to us and will give us the right direction to take. I admit to finding a lot of joy and comfort in knowing that. I'd hate to make these decisions based on our feelings or our own wisdom.  We would really appreciate your prayers as well.

Thanks!

We will be praying for Ethan, and for you guys.  Poor little guy!!

Thank you, Erin! I just got your email. I knew you'd remember when I went through all of this. You can understand why I really don't want to see Ethan suffer for the same years I did. Not fun.

Thanks for the prayers...

Poor kids! We'll be praying, especially for Ethan and his recurring issues.
We're praying for wisdom in your decision, and that God will make things clear to you.  :)

ENT
Not sure about the details with Ethan, but our son Elijah had somne issues as well. He went to an ENT in Castro Valley that is just awesome. He had tubes put in and life changed for him. All the issues went away and what we thought was a speech impedement almost totally went away. Worth exploring.
Yes, we'll be doing research into that as well. I have an aversion to doing the tubes, but if it ends up that's the issue, then we'll go ahead with it. They're going to be doing a sonogram to find out if his adenoids are enlarged and need to be removed... which was the same problem I had. It dramatically changed my life (for the better) but for me, they didn't catch it until I was 12.Embarassed
